• On the sides of the bowl is the Buddhist mantra om mani padme om, which translates as  "praise to the jewel in the lotus"
• On the bottom are the Eyes of the Buddha which symbolize wisdom, enlightenment, and compassion and also represent the Buddha's ability to see all things, past, present, and future
