• His right hand is in the bhumisparsha mudra or earth touching gesture with his hand extended  over his knee towards the ground
• This earth touching hand position he took in the moments before his enlightenment where he is reaching for the ground asking the earth goddess to witness his enlightenment
• His left hand in resting in his lap in the dhyana mudra of meditation
• The Buddha is in the full lotus or padmasana seated position with the soles of both feet facing upwards, it is a seated position associated with mediation
• Buddha is seated on a tall base with three legs
